If there is a filmmaker who has sparked passion, debate, and admiration for decades, it is Spike Lee. This documentary looks back at his career and influence: the films, the controversies, and the doors he helped open for Black talent on and off screen. Moving between the U.S. and France—where his work has long resonated—The Last King of Brooklyn traces a legacy that continues to shape how cinema confronts race, power, and everyday life.
Director: Dimitri Danvidé is a French director known for documentaries and music-related films, including Nouvelle École (2015) and Les Clippeurs (2014). He began directing early, made his first professional short in 2007, founded his production company, and has worked across documentary and music video production.
